Finding the right branding poses for your personal branding photo session can feel overwhelming.
But it does not have to be! No matter what your field of work is, these three branding poses will help you show off what you do! I like to think of these poses as “base poses”. The goal is not to imitate them exactly, but instead to use what you do to make them your own. For my DIY friends do not hesitate to use these poses twice. Yes, twice. First use them in a traditional “this is the pose” sense, and then use them again but incorporate pieces from your craft. For example, if you are a painter, copy pose one in an environment you are comfortable in, and then use it again while holding some of your paint brushes (or even with your paintings around you).
Brand Pose 1: With Your Favorite Drink
Now this may seem goofy, but this is one of the best ways to share a bit of your personality! Whether you are a big coffee drinker, or even a big water drinker, grab your favorite cup or mug to incorporate it into your photos. If you’re like me and you have a loyalty to a local coffee shop, grab one of their drinks before your session and use the cup as a prop. This is also a classic pose to have on your instagram!
Brand Pose 2: Find a Way To Hold Your Head
Not only is this pose timeless, but it fits into every brand. Holding your face or even just leaning on your hand is a great way to frame your face and even draw a viewer’s attention to your eye (which is also always a plus!). Start with one hand and add a second if you feel like going “full highlight”.
Brand Pose 3: Headshot With Your Tool(s)
Out of all the branding poses this is one of the most important shots to get! My personal favorite method for this pose is to simply hold your tool next to your head (or at least near). So your other arm does not feel lost, simply hold your other arm as support or place your thumb in a pocket/rest on your hip.
Bonus Branding Pose: The Tiny Details
Grab a business card, your menus or any other branded detail you share with your clients and show them off! This is also another way to work your branding colors into your branded images.
Now that you have a plan, go strike a pose!
