A bit about me . . .
Hey there! I am Irene! I have been photographing for as long as I can remember – literally! Photography came to me purely by luck! When I was no more than five years old, a neighbor moving away left me her 120 stick film camera and it was safe to say that was the day I got hooked on photography.
After this day I have always worked towards making photography a big part of my life. Around 2015 I worked for a large corporate portrait studio for a little over two years. While studio photography has a special place in my heart, I knew I had to expand and head to the great outdoors! Being able to capture moments in the lives of people in their environment and in environments they cherish is a blessing. Especially in a place as beautiful as Sonoma County, my home.
I love shooting portraits of all kinds but I have a special place for the individual – this is why I am always found shooting grads/seniors and small business personal brands. My clients are not just “clients”, I care about you and want to help you create the images you need! I can also be found shooting couples, families and small weddings and events. While photography is what I do, I love maintaining a multifaceted aura. In 2018 I graduated from the Santa Rosa Junior College with an Associate Degree in Humanities (this is where I learned American Sign Language!). From there I attended Northern Arizona University where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications with a minor in Photography in 2020. As I am a huge nerd and I love to teach, I continued my education with NAU and gained my Master’s of Education in Career and Technical Education in 2021. In the future I hope to open a small wedding and workspace venue. At this dream location, I would be able to also be able to offer photography and branding workshops there as well.
Outside of “work” (is it work if you love what you do? Anyways -) I love paddle boarding, gardening, listening to podcasts, travel and thrifting!
